Last week, the Intensive English Program took a trip to the Living History Farm in Urbandale, Iowa. The main part is the recreation of a town in 1875. We walked around and looked at the various buildings.
The high point was a historical baseball game played with the traditional uniforms and rules. They asked for volunteers from the spectators and our student Masaki, who is a baseball player, volunteered to play.
The game went for a few innings until it started to pour and they had to call the game. But in that time he got a run in and also fielded a ball (with bare hands) to end the inning.
